Hey, how’s it going this is Darrin Goodman with Guitar Control, I’m bringing this little video lesson on a little Spanish Guitar kind of thing as an exercise, it’s part of the piece “Malagueña” there’s so many different renditions of Malagueña that you know, I hate to ever say this is how Malagueña is played because I’ve heard like a million different variations on it anyway this is one little snippet from the song really easy to play like I said it’s a good kind of an exercise you know if you’re starting out for your right hand for picking.
We have a walking bass line that consists of 6 string open 6th string 4th fret with third finger 5th string 2nd fret with first finger, then the second part of the baseline is the 5th string open 3rd fret with third finger 2nd fret with second finger back to open and then 3rd fret of the 6th string with third finger 1st fret of the 6th string with first finger and then it would start over again so that’s the entire baseline sequence.
For the next part it’s a little bit trickier but I’m sure you can catch it, between each bass note you’re going to play the 1st and 2nd string open with the fingers on your on your right hand. I use my second and third finger because just from classical posture that’s just the fingers that I would use. You could use your first and second fingers but I’m used in doing it this way so may be a good idea to practice it both ways just to kind of give you know you know share the exercise amongst your fingers so how that you’re going to play this is you’ll play the 1st base note and then the 1st and 2nd string open, next bass note 1st and 2nd string open. So this is played as 8th notes so one-and two-and three-and it’s in 3/4 time so if you think of it that way you got 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3.
